MONTHLY BEAUTY BAG: July 2013 Ipsy Bag!

Hello & Good morning! Hope you had an enjoyable weekend. I know I did. So, after some long thinking, I decided on a new post schedule that would enable to me to properly use products to the potential they have & give good reviews on them as well. I've decided on just Mondays & Wednesdays, omitting Friday to relax before the weekend. I hope this is of no trouble to my readers & I do hope you understand. I'm also very sorry for the late posting. As of this week, I have to take off to watch my little one since both by trusted sitters are out of town. More QT with my BB!

Now, let’s get on to the beauty bag. I've known about Ipsy, formerly know as My Glam for awhile now, & I really wanted to get into it, but the bags they were sending out before becoming Ipsy weren't really up to par with many beauty gurus & bloggers, so I passed on every opportunity I was given to be subscribed. That was until My Glam, now Ipsy, revamped their bags & items that they send out every month.

By December of 2012, I was ready to be a subscriber. Thankfully, I was able to get on this list & I’m now a proud Ipsy bag receiver.

A little detail about this monthly beauty subscription:

- for $10 USD a month, you are sent 4-5 deluxe samples/full products to try out.

- every bag is almost the same, except for some slight variations ( I.E. color choices may be different for products from the same brand ).

- there is no need to constantly worry about going back to the website to buy the subscription. Since it’s monthly, you simply enter your information, credit/debit card & all, & Ipsy charges you the $10 & your bag is normally shipped out before the middle of the month.

- there is normally a wait to be subscribed. Ipsy is only limited to how much product they receive from each of the beauty brands, so if you really want to be a subscriber, I DEFINITELY want to tell you to sign up & get on the wait list. This bag is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!

Now for the fun part, the contents of my July bag!

This month, the bag is sturdy plastic, clear hot pink in color & in a cylinder shape. I received:
- Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof Humidity Resistant Spray
- Pop Cosmetics Pouty Pop Crayon in the shade Coral Crush
- COOLA Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tinted Moisturizer
- BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample
- Benefit Benetint

Here are close ups of the make-up products:

BH Cosmetics Palette, California Collection

- Hollywood - A vibrant, matte purple
- San Francisco - Metallic Bronze
- Malibu - Metallic Gold

To me, the colors aren’t very opaque, but it might be the way I apply them. I use San Francisco the most as it’s the most neutral color in the palette. I’m able to wear this color to work.

My camera had a hard time focusing on the product itself.

I love this so much. Prior to receiving this bag, I stopped in at Ulta to browse any lip products I could come across & stumbled upon this exact color. I remembering me thinking that I really wanted it & how I would come back & get it. Looks like I don’t have to, bc I now have two thanks to my mother. The container twists the product up like normal chapsticks do & it’s very nice & non-drying. I wear this at least twice a week.

Benefit’s Benetint

So cute & small!

Just like the Pouty Pop Crayon, I had been eyeing up this tint for awhile. As I was on my way to work the morning I received my Ipsy bag, I wanted to stop in at a drugstore & find a similar dupe to this. I was very excited to get this, but the color payoff isn’t what I thought it would be. It does tint, but I rather enjoy sporting the Uzzlang lip look & this tint doesn’t really tint enough for me to do that look, but I still like this for an all over wash of color on my cheeks & lips when I’m being lazy.

COOLA Mineral Face SPF Rose Essence Tinted Moisturizer

I used to be a big fan of tinted moisturizers until BB creams took over my life, but I like this sample. To be honest, I had no clue it was tinted before completely reading the tube. I’m not sure when I’ll use this, but it’s small enough to travel with, so maybe on a day when I forget to bring a bulky BB cream with me… yes, I do tend to do that… don’t judge me.

A first for me. Here’s a before & after of this tinted moisturizer on my skin. I have a few red spots & dark spots & my nose is peppered with blackheads. The lighting is a little off, but I’m happy with how this came out. As you can see, the tinted moisturizer did cover my red spots fairly well & also managed to cover my blackhead infested nose ( I made that sound so gross ). I probably won’t use this unless I absolutely had to. The smell, however, is really nice. I love anything rose scented.

As for the Big Sexy Hair Hairspray ( pictured in top picture ), I don’t feel like it does it’s job for me. Even after apply it to my frizzles after they are tamed, this wears off & my mop top is back to being frizz central. I need a much stronger hairspray to tame this mane down, but I like it for what it’s worth.

Are you sold yet? The products, regardless of how they work or don’t work on me, are pretty BOMB. I’m very happy that Ipsy upgraded their bags. Me & my mother look forward to this bad every month. We even get jealous of some of the products we get.

All in all, I HIGHLY recommend you subscribing to this beauty bag. You really can’t go wrong for $10 a month. It’s much better than another monthly beauty subscription that I won’t be naming.

5/5 for sure!

Hope you have a wonderful day, have an even better day tomorrow!

Lubyou
