WARNING : If you are squeamish to close-ups of sebaceous filaments and all around gross aspects of the human body, then this may not be the review you want to read. Just a heads up!
Hello my lovies! I didn't intend on my next review being so spaced out from my last, but I was debating on what I wanted to review. You know how it can be. A few updates before starting this review - I'm recently ENGAGED and have dyed my hair once again, but only a few shades darker. Things have been amazing! Now onto the review!
I didn't take any photos of the box the product came in, however, it's a black-based box with white writing and everything but the name of the product is in Korean. Thankfully, Memebox sent along a little card with information and directions on how to use this.
Along with the container of removal sheets, there are a mini pair of tweezers and a pack of dual-ended q-tips.
Closer look onto the dual-ended Q-tip, you can see there a commodone extractor to help get the gunk out of your pores once you've allowed the essence to sit for it's allotted time as well as a Q-tip side to help push out the gunk as well as clean up any rouge gunk.
" Keep your skin clear and get rid of all those stubborn blackheads! This unique blackhead eliminator is in a sheet form which effectively allows the essence to fully sit into the pores to be able to soften the dirt out and eliminate it completely. It also controls excessive sebum production to prevent further appearance of whiteheads and blackheads"
Directions
After cleansing and toning, place the sheet onto your nose and press gently until it fully adheres. You can tug it a bit if necessary. Leave for 20 to 30 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water.
Pretty simple directions to follow.
Now before I move onto my results, I want to point out that the pores on my nose that are filled with sebum and oil are sebaceous filaments and NOT blackheads. If you head on over to Tiffany's blog ( AKA Sample Hime ) she busts some skincare myths about these clusters of gunky pores on your nose. Click here and read myth #1 and #2!
Opening the container, the sheets are round and are covered by a little blue protector sheet. I'm assuming this is to help the top sheets stay moistened or to protect them from contaminants.
And here's one of the sheets! It's in a perfect round shape. The sheet has some give so you're able to tug at the sheet to make it a tad bit longer to fit over your nose. I suggest doing that and using two. These are okay saturated, but I find better results using two instead of one. My first go, when my nose piercing was two weeks new, I was only able to use one sheet on one side of my nose and there wasn't much of a difference in the way the sebaceous filaments looked on my nose. I decided to wait a few more weeks before being able to use two over my entire nose. As far as scent goes, the sheets have a very light, almost unnoticeable to my nose, citrus scent. It's not a bother to the senses at all.
As I stated earlier, I did two goes at this product. This picture was from my first go and it wasn't very promising. Trying to get one sheet to stick onto one side of my nose was a little difficult.
Now onto the performance.
Here comes the rather gross part of this review.
This is my nose before. Full of gunk and definitely rough in some areas. I've never found any legitimate way to rid my nose of these things. Using extraction tools and nose strips don't work for me and won't work for me now that I have a piercing. Out of all the things I could detest about my face, this is one of them. Makeup can cover them up, but they are annoying to see there.
The results up next are a result of using two sheets, stretched over my nose and left on for the suggested time.
Now while I'm almost certain they aren't gone and that they won't be gone forever, these little pads actually had an effect on my pores. The look of them has diminished greatly and to top that off, my nose looks and feels much smoother. My pores almost look empty. I didn't really have to use the extractor tool either. With normal upkeep, I'm sure I can keep the appearance of these at bay, which really makes me a happy camper and boosts my confidence a little higher. I feel as if I can comfortably go places without makeup now.
While this is not a permanent fix, I can definitely see myself using this as a bi-weekly or more treatment to keep my sebaceous filaments at bay. I can't lie, I didn't think this product was going to work at first, but I am tickled pink to have been introduced to such a wonderful product... What am I going to do when I run out of pads... ?
Actually works when you use it correctly.
Light Smell.
Easy instructions and easy to use.
Isn't a permanent fix.
Not widely available.
