Chinese New Year Collaboration - Chinese Zodiac - Sheep!

Hello my lovelies. For Chinese New Year, I volunteered to do a makeup look for one of the corresponding animals of the Chinese Zodiac. This year is the Year of the Horse, but I chose my birth year animal, the Sheep! I will be linking you to all of these lovely bloggers once everyone has posted, so this post will be subject to change. Let's get started with the makeup tutorial for the Sheep!

I might end up buying this sheep plushie. Too cute! I tried my best to do similar makeup to this sheep's cute little face. The only thing I was missing was horns & super white curly hair, which I'll be working on getting soon!

" Baaaaaaa ! "

Here's the finished look. I think I did fairly well with this. I've never done anything like this to my face before! I got some silly stares from my father while editing my photos. :P

Tutorial : Start up!

Firstly, I added my circles lenses first to avoid later contamination with makeup. These lenses are BeautyLenses.com Dia in the color Black [ review here ]. I felt since you mainly see black eyes on sheep, these would be perfect!

I prepped my face using my normal morning routine, which I will do a blog post about soon, & primed my face with Etude House's Baby Choux Base in Berry Choux [ review here ].

This is what my face looks like so far.

Then, I took a foundation that's much lighter than my natural skin tone, applied that with my fingers all over my face, including my lips & neck. I used NYX's Stay Matte but Not Flat Foundation.

To set the makeup, I applied a translucent powder. I wish I knew the name of this, but I've had it for years. Any powder will work!

All my foundation is blended nicely & my lips are muted out for the next steps!

I decided to conceal & highlight after so my face would have more of a sheen to it. I set the concealer with the highlight powder. I used Physicians Formula Nude Concealer & Etude House's Bling In The Sea Cheek Sun Brightener [ review here ].

It looked super pretty in person. My face was dewy perfection!

Next, I took a black eyeliner from Secret Key that I got in my first ever Memebox & lined my entire lid, not going past my crease, then took a fluffy brush & Blackout from the Naked 2 palette, filled in the lid area to set the liner & blended that out into my crease.

A very simple & easy eye. It's got some glitter to it as well!

I took a black gel liner, I think this is from the brand Motives & an angled brush & free hand drew my "sheep nose". I took a lot of time on this area. I do advise doing this step after you've done all of your makeup since the black liner will transfer to your bottom lip. I even set it with the same black shadow I used on my eyes.

This was the most drastic part of this look. I found it super fun! Maybe using facial paint would work better than liner & shadow, but it was easy to accomplish. I filled in my nostril area & made it look like a small sheep nose, lined the middle of my cupids bow, & then filled in my entire upper lip. I probably could have curled the inner corners of my lips more to look more sheep authentic.

Then taking a concealer & a light eyeshadow, I went over my brows with the concealer to get most of the dark hair to a more blonder color & then used the first color on the Naked 2 Palette to set the concealer.

It looks a tad silly, but it worked out well since I already have blond hair.

Lastly, I added some pretty lashes I got years ago to set the look. Any lashes will do, it's totally up to your preference!

The finished eye, closeup. I didn't use any mascara since I already had some on, so I would put some mascara on if you really want to.

You may take any curling wand or iron you have & curl your hair, including your bangs. Sheep have very curly fur!

And that's all there is to this look!

I find sheep to be very simple animals, so I really wanted this look to be simple to achieve.

SELFIE TIME!

I actually thought I looked more lion like, but when I asked people if I looked like a sheep, they told me I really did, so I stopped worrying!

Here's a full list of the items I used:

Etude House Baby Choux Base in Berry Choux
NYX Matte but Not Flat Foundation in Light

REVIEW: Fortune Cookie Soap!

Hey lovies, I'm back with another review. On my December Haul post, most of my comments wanted to know about the Fortune Cookie Soap I bought, so I decided I'd like to post a review on the soaps I bought as well as tell you more about the subscription they have. I promise, you'll love it, especially for my girls & guys who love soap products at affordable prices!

Fortune Cookie Soap was founded by husband & wife, Justin & Shannon after creating soaps as gifts for their family. They were noticed by many bath related stores & started selling to them; to nationwide stores & now they make soaps to sell to everyone across the world!

Let's start with the Fortune Cookie Soaps!

"In The Loop"

If you're thinking, "That looks like Froot Loops, does it smell like the cereal?"...
This soap smells just like Froot Loops, as if FCS crushed up the cereal & found a way to make an oil to put in this soap. It smells TO THE T, like Froot Loops. The little "loops" on the top are soap as well & add such a cute touch, as well as the drips of "milk" that are also soap. This is for the cereal obsessed!

"Blueberry Flapjacks"

I've never loved the scent of blueberry more than I do this. Blueberry & maple sweetness! This is the soap that smells up my entire bathroom. You can smell it from the hallway! I'd love to have this in a candle! You can't quite see the syrup, but it's there. & isn't the little butter square the CUTEST?

"Cinnamon Rolled"

If you didn't know it was soap, you'd probably mistake this soap for an actual Cinnamon Roll cookie, bc this SCREAMS baked cinnamon goodness. Real cinnamon dusted on top? This smells good enough to eat. The glaze is also soap.

The attention to detail on all of these soaps is amazing.

When you think fortune cookie, you think the cookies with the fortunes...

Look closely, bc you can see the words on the fortune they add into each Fortune Cookie Soap. These soaps are the most unique & clever little soaps I've ever come in contact with. Move over Lush, FCS is my new favorite!

Each soap is about the size of my hand, but is hollow inside. I haven't used them all to the point where they collapse yet, but FCS offers a soap saver for these soaps. They also offer a soap dish made for these type of soaps since they don't contain any nasty artificials. That being said, they will deteriorate if left near water.

Now, about these soaps. This may not be something everyone likes, but when you have a mother you work with that has very sensitive senses, using soaps that don't have a lingering scent after using is amazing for me. I can use these before work & not go into work smelling like the scents. If I really like a scent, I can always buy a body butter from FCS to apply after taking a shower. Not ideal for some, but for me, I do love this.

What I didn't like about these soaps is that the suds don't last long enough. I end up having to use the soap a second time to get more suds to wash my body up, but then I realize, there are no artificals in these soaps. These soaps also leave a very clean feeling in the shower & once you wipe all the water off of your body, you also very quite moisturized.

You can get these soaps in cute Chinese take out boxes in different colors. I advise getting them in the boxes if you travel with soap a lot.

These soaps can retail from $2+ to $5+ depending on if you get them with the add-ons.

Next I'll be talking about two products from The Nitemare Before Christmas line they had for their Halloween collection. They had a soap box made of all goodies from that line, but has since been sold out.

Both are in the scent "Sandy Claws" which is melted chocolate & chai spices.

I love chai. I love chai fraps with vanilla.
I don't like the smell of melted chocolate on my body & I should have taken that hint when I smelled The Body Shops Chocomania body butter my mom loves, but I decided it must be a different smell since the chai is in it.

A pretty red body soap. Red like Santa's Suit! I've found with this soap, when I use it, I don't smell the chocolate as much as I smell like chai, so I've grown to really love using this soap. The black stuff you see around the bottles opening, was black tape. FCS takes a lot of care of their products & know that these are prone to leaking out everywhere. Props to FCS! This retails for $10.99.

Though this body butter has the same scent as the body wash, I find myself unable to use it due to the strong chocolate smell. I'm not a fan of chocolate scented anything, but thought it might smell different due to it having the chai in it as well. I would have liked this better if it had Vanilla in it, but the overall feeling of this body butter is wonderful. Definitely makes your skin amazingly soft. I will probably buy some other scents in body butter form. This retails for $10.99 also.

I am really pleased with the overall look, feel, use, & price of these products. I plan to make purchases when I can from FCS. I'm very happy to have found them.

Another thing I spoke about was the Fortune Cookie soap subscription box they offer. It's a 4 time a year, themed subscription soap box with 8 exclusive FCS products. They also include a $10 gift code for a future FCS purchase.

I'm also happy to announce, THEY SHIP INTERNATIONALLY. So for those of you who want to try this box out, NOW YOU CAN. Hurry before they start shipping out their next Soap Box!

I hope you've enjoyed  this review!
I definitely do recommend anyone buying from Fortune Cookie Soap.

REVIEW: Funky Rhythm - Pink from Beautylenses.com! [ SPONSORED ]

My last lens' reviews':

Hello lovies! <3
It's sort of snowing today where I live, so I'm enjoying a relaxing day at home!

Today I'm reviewing another pair of lenses sent to me from BeautyLenses. I decided on getting a different color than a normal eye color from them this time. I know pink is a popular lens color; I have a pair I previously bought awhile back when I was first starting to get into Korean makeup & such.

The lens box, lens case, & the type & color of the lens on the bottom of the box.

The lens' vials' have the same look as the box they came in. You can clearly see the lenses from the bottom of the vials.

You can't really see the pink that well on the lens in the case. The brown outer ring is very prominent in these lenses.

Background Information:

[ BRAND ] Funky  Rhythm

[ MOISTURE CONTENT ] 38 ~ 42% water.

[ COUNTRY OF ORIGIN ] South Korea

Natural Lighting.

Inside Lighting.

Flash.

Onto the ratings!

[ DESIGN ] 5/5. I really like the clean & basic design of these. The outer rim is brown & fades into the pink of the lens that completely fades near the cornea of your eye.

[ COLOR ] 3/5. I really love the color pink, but the color pink in this lens doesn't show up on my green eyes. This lens color would look better on people who have brown eyes. Unless you're looking directly into my eye, close up, in good lighting, you can't really tell the lenses are pink.

[ COMFORT ] 5.5 I had no problems with this lens. Very comfortable. Of course, they start getting dry around the 6-8 hours of wear.

[ ENLARGEMENT ] 5/5. I'm more prone to buy lenses with a 14.5+mm to wear, since I like the larger eye look, so these are good on enlargement.

[ OVERALL ] 4.5/5. My only issue with these lenses was that the color didn't show up well on my eye, but these are a very natural pair of lenses, so I can see why they didn't show up well on mine. Like I said, people with brown eyes would definitely love these as the pink will show up better.

SELFIE TIME!

I edited the last one & put a flower crown on my head. Nifty, LOL!

Since these lenses are so comfortable, I keep going back to them to wear them quite often!

As usual, you can use the code ASHLEY at checkout to get a discount.

Hope you've enjoyed this review!
Please keep warm! <3
