♥ [ REVIEW ] Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover ! ♥

Happy Late Halloween Lovies!
Hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween! I tried to take Little Ham out but we didn't know which place would be good to go to, so we did something special for him. At the end of this review, I'll show off a few of my favorite shots of him in his Halloween costume!

I recently picked this product back up after holding off on using it for some reason. I've been using another cleansing oil that I need to review, but decided to give this one another try and WOAH, I'm so upset that I didn't start using this more than I was.

Wanna know why? Keep on reading!

The make-up remover comes in a pretty standard bottle with the Skinfood logo molded into the plastic. The bottle is clear and only gains color because of the product.

The front label has the name of the product that's on top of a pretty beige and gold trimmed "label" and a baby blue background with white lettering and accompanied by two very pretty roses. The back label has the product information in both English and Korean. It's such a super pretty combination of colors.

The product comes out of a pretty basic, flip cap dispenser. I honestly would have preferred a pump over this.

Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover
Two-layered shaking-type point make-up remover with Centifolia rose distilled water, which has purifying and soothing properties with rich and white foam to smoothly remove make-up and eye lip areas without stimulus and dryness.

To Use : Shake it up to blend two separate layers of contents and apply an appropriate amount to a cotton pad. Then softly wipe out areas around eyes and mouth

- Capacity - 160ml
- Skin Type - All

I wanted to find more information on Centifolia Rose Distilled Water, but the website I clicked on blurred out so much information. What I do know about this type of distilled water is that it has purifying and calming properties and is used to brighten the complexion as well.

So without shaking the bottle to incorporate the layers, you can tell where they layers begin and end. I'm assuming the darker pink layer is somewhat of an oil.

Once the layers are mixed, the remover turns a uniform light pink color. It's very runny. The second photo I took just as the remover was about to drip off of my hand. It has quite a oily feel to it as well. I like my removers to have an oil in them for things like waterproof mascara and lippies that tend to stick into the lines of my lips. Facial wipes just DO NOT cut it for me.

As for the smell, it smells just like roses do. I love the smell of roses, as you know, so this was a plus for me.

So I did an experiment.

Here I'm wearing full on make-up; foundation, concealer, shadows, liner, mascara, blusher, highlighter, and black lips, because, ya know, Halloween.

I took this photo after taking the other side off, but I wanted to show an action shot. I honestly think this looks horrid, but it's what I do to take care of my face. ^^

Here's half of my make-up rubbed off with the remover. I DID NOT use a cotton pad as the directions say to use and I have good reason. I notice when I don't rub my face or have the need to rub off anything, my face doesn't flake as much as it used to. This is an instance where scrubbing my face really didn't help me. You can still see the eye liner line here on the left side.

Once I rinsed my face with warm water ( hard when you're trying to keep one side on ), you can see that the remover has removed my facial makeup as well as my eye shadow and lipstick. The only thing it didn't take off fully was the eye liner.

Final shot of my face, this time I've used the remover on the other side of my face as well. If you click the photo, you can see the foundation, concealer, eye shadow, mascara, blusher, and highlighter have come off quite easy, while you can still see faint traces of my eye liner as well as the lipstick in the lines of my lips. Rubbing with my hands on my eyes for a few second didn't help remove the liner any further. I normally have to go in with my facial cleanser after using this, but what I want to note is not just that. I found that using this remover all over the face and then washing with a cleanser, my skin feels so much smoother after. The rose distilled water in this remover works well on my skin.

If I just had to base this off of how well it removes the makeup, it's an okay for me, but because of the benefits I have using this remover all over my face, I'll continue using it until I have no more. I am unsure as to if I will buy another one of these or try another remover similar to this one.

Affordable.
Smells great if you like floral smells.
Does soften and hydrate skin.

Does not completely remove make-up.

  1. I use the milk version as a "point" remover just on my eyes and after I oil cleanse if there's left overs and I absolutely love how soft and gentle it is! :) I wonder if the two are the exact same or if the rose makes one more efficient? Great review boo <3

    1. I'm going to try doing what you do to see if I can get the eye liner to come off better. I've oil cleansed and noticed that the eye liner doesn't fully come off doing that either. I agree, these removers are super gentle on the skin! Now I'm wondering that, too. I might just get the milk version to see the difference. Thanks for the feedback darling and thanks for reading xoxo <3

  3. I tried the rose blusher recently and I adore the scent. I'm really thinking to buy more from this product line simply because of the scent :D and the packaging of course *_*
